Diving

Lake Malawi is teeming with an array of tropical fish – it is home to hundreds of species found nowhere else on earth. If you haven’t dived before – check out our options for beginners in the PADI Courses section. Malawi’s gorgeous Rift Valley scenery is reflected under the waters of the lake – creating a stunning marine landscape of dramatic rock formations, caverns and cliffs. These features make it one of the world’s top fresh water dive locations. For many divers, Lake Malawi is their first chance to do a freshwater dive, as well as a dive at altitude.

Lake Malawi is gorgeously warm, and you don’t have to cope with big surf or powerful tides. Some of Lake Malawi’s best diving is right on our doorstep, for example the site featured in David Attenborough’s BBC series – Planet Earth. To see this at its best, come and explore on a night dive and join one of the most unique diving experiences on the planet. On the night dive you will be accompanied by our resident “pack” of dolphin fish who use the effect of your torch to capture their prey, the ever present cichlids.
